Our orignal Ford Focus had a 5000 RDS E.O.N series (with
volume knob, aposed to buttons)
It had RDS Features including:
EON ( Extended Other Networks )
TA/TP ( Traffic Announcement / Traffic
Programme )
PTY ( Programme Type )
CT ( Clock Time and Date )
AF ( Alternate Frequencies )
PS ( Programme Service )
An Example Of The Display:
RDS:
RADIO 1
NEWS ºº
98.9FM |TP| TA-L 3
(Picture Here)
Pre-RDS
FM
98.9
NEWS ºº
FM1 TA-L
3
On BBC National Radio (Radio 1,2,3 and 4) the 'TP' is circled.
On any other stations it isnt.
The TP icon flashes with weak signals and stays on with
strong signals
(except minster and ycr scarborough which dont use TP)
(Picture of Palace FM RSL without
TP here)
AF has been disabled due to auto changing from hallam to
tfm/ tfm to hallam (depending on which is stronger) because
they both have the same PI code.
When choosing Hallam the rds display will initially say
T F M untill a strong enough signal is
recived.
If this happens and the display changes to HALLAM ,
TFM will briefly display HALLAM untill the signal
is strong enough, then it will revert.
I think this is due to 'pre rds' in memory determind by
the PI code so you dont have to wait as long to see the
station name.
The presets were setup like this:
